| Today's focus on workflow was something that has absolutely changed the way I am going to approach admin and emails. I am naturally quite a disorganised and generally quite forgetful person so having some options to help me reorder my emails and create easily accessible notes is going to help immensely. Toby is certainly going to keep my tab population down (it was getting out of control).
| The google hangouts activity (although it had some user based problems) has provided a way to collaborate with staff and students and between students that I hadn't considered before which is something I am excited to put into practice.
| A lot of what I learned today is going to cross over into my personal life, I already can't wait to share these apps with people I know to change the way they do things.

First Steps
| Today I took the first steps into my Manaiakalani Journey. It has been an eye opening experience full of sparks of inspiration for my teaching practice. I had previously seen the Google office suite as quite limited and lamented the lack of advanced features, thankfully I was just blind to the potential of the Google suite.
| The two applications that were my main touch points today were chrome and google docs. the availability of extensions that each solve small problems in novel ways is something that I am excited to try to enhance my teaching practice. What I am most excited about however is what I learned about Google Docs. I rolled my eyes when Google Docs was mentioned as my main focus but the options it provides are seemingly boundless. The way it allows you to lay out information like an updating table of contents and the ability to use Goggle Docs as a creative space.
| What I really want to take back to my classroom after today is the fundamental information about google docs. How to reference inside a document how to lay out a document with a table of contents. I also want to be creating activities that gets the students to really dive into the learning and challenge each other and I think (at least in part) I have gotten the information I need for that today.
